::: Marc Armitage – Australian tour 2014 update

Bookings are coming in thick and fast for Marc’s fist 2014 tour in Australia beginning in March. Marc will be visiting and presenting his amazing professional development session throughout areas in VIC, N.S.W, the A.C.T and QLD during March, April and May.

“Play must happen before learning can occur.” ~ Marc Armitage

Marc Armitage is the most knowledgable and renowned consultant of play we have lecturing in Australia today.

Marc Armitage; independent UK playworking consultant, is in Australia for 2014 offering his highly sought after professional development sessions on the importance of PLAY in a series of state by state tours. Marc is an independent consultant, researcher and writer in children’s play and the wider social world of children and young people. He began his professional career as a playworker in the early 1980s and became a freelance consultant in 1989.
Marc now spends his time traveling the world imparting his knowledge on the importance of children’s play with people working with children and young people at conferences, seminars and professional development events.
His audience includes educators from Pre-school, Family Day Care, Childcare, Home Schools, Out of School Hours Care, Primary Schools, Community Groups, Tertiary Institutions, Universities and Local Government. A wide range of passionate early childhood professionals with different levels of experience; In fact around four and half thousand of them over the past eighteen months in Australia alone!
The response in Australia to Marc’s philosophy on the importance of play and how we can put his ideas into practice in our own environments, has been nothing but phenomenal.
Marc is ready for another busy year of touring with his ‘North, South, East, West tour beginning in Australia in March, taking in every state and territory during the year and hopping over to New Zealand in the second half of the year. He may even find time to revisit the East Coast of America to expand on the work he did there in March 2013.
We are delighted that Marc has chosen to spend 2014 in Australia; based in Melbourne. We are currently accepting expressions of interest from individuals and organisations, working with children and young people who would like to secure Marc for a full day or evening of professional development in their setting, school, offices or other suitable venues. Marc is also available as a high quality keynote speaker conference speaker.
Marc’s work is based on 30 years of his own research and experience. Not only is he a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the importance of playing, he is engaging, personable, inspiring and highly entertaining … It all adds up to a fun and empowering learning experience for his participants.

  4. Dear Mark

I’m an early years professional in the UK with firm links in Australia . I’m keen to develop my career and become a childcare trainer and consultant . I am then aiming to move to Brisbane late 2014 early 15 . Please can you tell me what workshops you have running in Australia during August ! I would love to book a place and perhaps pick your brains about early years training in Oz

Your passion for early years is inspirational and if my training could offer half of what you have achieved, I’d feel I was making great progress .

My nursery in Leicester achieved outstanding and I believe we are quite forward in our thinking ! I’m an advocate of Forest school , learning through play , chic junk playgrounds and open ended resources.

Please do not hesitate to contact me as I’m keen to establish links with like minded passionate people

    Kind regards

    Stephanie Bennett EYPS
