::: winter flora

The days can be quite gloomy at the moment with dark and often foggy mornings and evenings that close in all too soon. We all look forward to Spring arriving with its softer, lighter days and glorious blossoms that fill the air with a delicious perfume. Fortunately we still manage to have some pretty winter flowers braving the cold that cheer us up – you can’t beat daffodils and tulips poking their heads out of the ground!

We collected a range of flowers and leaves from the garden and popped them out for the children to use on the collage table with some strong glue.

They really loved handling these soft, pretty treasures and what happy works of art they produced!

The next time they came to kinder the plants were looking a bit droopy even though we had put them in the fridge, so we gave them to the children in the sandpit.

They cooked up a storm …

the boys elbowing the girls out of the way in their eagerness.

The plants added a new dimension to their play, inside and out, and brightened us all up as well.
