::: collage on wood
Young children enjoy doing collages of many different types and we always have heaps of collage materials available for them to do as they will. Sometimes we use brightly coloured materials, sometimes natural, sometimes recycled junk. We provide a variety of surfaces to paste on too such as card, boxes, paper and so on.
This week we found a box full of wood scraps and thought that they could be a great base for the children’s collage activity. We also felt like keeping the more natural look happening, and going along with the ‘circle’ theme we have been discussing, we added only cardboard circles and cylinders.
Some children slathered on the glue – beautifully sensory …
while others very carefully dipped the circles into the glue.
Whatever the method, the resulting works of art turned out beautifully!
We love the 3D look.

I love these gorgeous pieces. Isn’t it amazing how children can repurpose ‘junk’ to make something so intriguing and interesting – especially when displayed on mass
::: You’re so right Bianca.

guys you must have cut the cylinders yourselves – confess up how did you do it ? it look perfect.
::: Hahaha Dianne … You wouldn’t catch US cutting up those cylinders but something did before we picked them up from Resource Rescue
