::: stamping with a wash

Last week we both had the pleasure of relieving at North Croydon Preschool. Donna had been there years ago when her nephew attended but Sherry had never visited there although it is part of the same Maroondah area that we both taught in for many years. Shame on you Sherry!! Well what a gorgeous kindergarten it is and thank you Susan and Lara – we both had a lovely time with you and your beautiful children. One of the exciting things about relieving is seeing activities we may have done in the past, but with a twist.

At the easels the teachers had set up  paint stamping with only a small amount of paint.

Which meant that it wasn’t too thick when it was being applied.

They had also popped out wallpaper paste with edicol dye (food dye).

When the children brushed it over in a thin wash the effect was to make it look like an underwater scene.

It was simple but really effective!

    What a wonderful picture. I’m looking to use different media at the easel – this may be what I try next.

    ::: They looked terrific Scotty … Have fun with it! :) :)
