::: recycling milk cartons as paint pots
We love this idea we picked up from Ringwood Uniting Preschool recently … Recycling milk cartons as paint pots!
It’s no secret that paint pots get filthy, inside and out …
with the paint colours inevitably getting mixed up in the pots …
resulting in us spending copious amounts of time scrubbing out plastic paint pots at the end of each day with paint ending up being washed down the drain which isn’t good for the pipes.
Disposing of the milk carton instead is a terrific idea …
especially as once the children’s hands get involved and all the paints turn into that mucky brown colour.
And let’s fce it the hands ALWAYS get involved!
Oooh we do love a good recycling tip!

As I was looking at the pictures, I thought what a very clean painting project, mine always get their hands and feet in the paint given any opportunity and then I arrived at the last two pictures – et voila. There is something about the slippy texture of paint that is just so addictive for kids – I usually end up having to wash the kitchen as the kids have worked out how much fun it is to put their hands in the paint and then CLAP, CLAP, CLAP – fun but messy!
::: Oh YES it’s all about the CLAP, CLAP, CLAP Rachel!

This is a great idea and I love the photos. When I started in my kindergarten room I let the children know that their yogurt and pudding containers were perfect for paint or to be used around the room. They are excited to be a part of providing for the room and proud to be contributing!
::: Thanks Kelly. We like that you involved the children!
