This is such a simple yet inspiring set up. I love how the pot plant gently screens the area, and also makes the table inviting and interesting. And what a good idea for a crayon holder. Beautiful!
::: You ares spot on Stephanie … This is a perfect example of just how easy it is to make the most simple activity look irresistible!!?:)
So simple and so lovely! I just taught a seminar about setting up invitations last week. The key thing that I wanted to get across to my Mongolian participants is that “less is more”. You don’t need lots of things, lots of “busyness” around- that is actually rather distracting. This invitation however, well, it is as you said: Irresistible!
::: Less is more is something we talk a lot about in our presentations on inviting set ups too Naomi.
Any suggestions on where to get more info about inviting set ups? (books, websites etc) I’m always keen for more inspiration and ideas that are irresistible!
We are Sherry and Donna and together we welcome you to ‘irresistible ideas for play based learning’, a blog designed to inspire and assist Teachers who follow a Developmental Curriculum, Tertiary Students of the Early Childhood Sector and Parents of children in the Early Years.
While teaching preschool together our mantra was “Make it Irresistible”. As it is not always easy to find exciting, irresistible and appropriate play based learning ideas for children in the early years, we would like to share with you some of the ideas our students have enjoyed over the years.
What a wonderful set of photos and a lovely reminder to let kids do their own thing in their own time.
::: Thanks Ali!
