::: Let’s go camping

As the year begins we love seeing lots of dramatic play spaces set up for the children to explore and settle into.

Thanks to our wonderful Australian climate many, many children are familiar with camping.

Having just returned from summer holidays many children may have in fact just experienced a camping holiday.

Perhaps even their first.

Not only are these camping areas beautiful, inviting and filled with familiar experiences for children.

They are also a lovely, safe social activity.

A perfect space for making new friends and meeting up with old ones.

This post has been linked to the ‘Learn through Play Monday‘ link up over at the Twins at Play blog. Be sure to pop on over and see how other people are playing this week!

    This would be a perfect lead up to the Easter Long Weekend. Nothing like a few nights in the bush :)

    ::: Great idea and such fun Bianca! :) :)

    Hi !
    Love the camping set up-question? How do you fix the tents to the floor without tent pegs and made them sturdy? Will probably go and buy a tent now!!! Love it!

    ::: Andrea, the tents aren’t actually attached to the floor. It is the tent frame which keeps them sturdy. A few of them are sunshades which again have their own frame for shape and stability. :) :)

    Amazing! I wish I had the resource!

    ::: Gaining resources can be a tricky thing Iena. We like to ask parents if they have things at home that they no longer want … try it. You might be surprised what you come up with

  4. What a perfect way to start the year. So many fun things you can do with a camping theme – cooking, story telling, singing around a “fire” etc etc.

    ::: I’ve been watching the children play in the camping area at kinder this week Elise and they are doing everything you have mentioned … as well as fishing and snake killing!!! :) :)

    I love this idea! I’ve been looking at all different forts I can make for my 2 year old. I can’t wait to set-up the camping theme! Thanks for sharing. I will definitely be referencing this site again. :)

    ::: We’re so glad we have inspired you Tracie … And welcome on board! :) :)
