::: narooma preschool – N.S.W.

We visited Narooma Preschool last week as guest speakers at an Early Years Conference. It was organised by Kristen and the other seven staff at this delightful centre just off the main strip of Narooma.

We were blown away by the huge playground at the back!

How lucky are these children?

They had some rather coy hens snuggled down in the ‘Hen Palace’ – we don’t blame them for hiding with so many noisy adults interrupting their weekend peace!

Next to them was a magnificent vegetable garden.

Although the land is very flat in this area, the playground has been given some gentle hills …

which create interesting slopes and the opportunity for some secret places, which all children love to have access to.

A huge tree in the middle of the playground provides a focus and must give the most wonderful shade in the hot months.

Look at their irresistible old fashioned cubby …

with its verandah and pots of plants.

The sandpit was covered up as it was the weekend, but we could see what a great playing spot it would be and loved the rocks at different heights which curved around the back.

The beauty of such a huge yard meant there was plenty of room for a bike track …

as well as a dry creek bed, complete with boat.

They also have the most wonderful outdoor undercover area …

where the children can enjoy their morning and afternoon tea, and lunch …

just as we did on the day!

Although the inside had been squished up to make room for the nearly forty participants and us …

we were still able to get a sneaky look …

at some of their setups …

and activities.

Remember our owls?

One of their clever staff member made them from the guide in this post!

It’s clear the staff here take great pride in their centre …

which was very evident, with all hands on deck to set up and pack up …

after a very busy day of presentations!

Narooma Preschool is found in on the corner of Nicholsen Street and Barker Parade, Narooma, on the south east coast of NSW .

This informations has been added to our Education Directory.

    Wow! What a huge space! This would keep me dreaming and scheming for a long time

    ::: It’s certainly huge Juliet … Much bigger than we’ve seen anywhere in Victoria. :) :)

    Is this the first non-Victorian centre to make it into your Directory? It looks wonderful! I bet you had a great time visiting up north.
    :)

    ::: YES it is Greg and next Friday we will have another one … Maruya Preschool, also on the east coast of N.S.W. Of course if we can’t get to you and your centre Greg you could always send the centre to us! … http://www.playbasedlearning.com.au/2011/07/education-directory-update/ :) :)

    Wow I am so glad you visited Narooma pre school. It is an amazing space with a lot of love and care going into maintaining it all. My 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son attend. I would like to say thank you to all the staff there, it really is the most increadable place for all our little ones, the kids always want to go to pre-school, and are quite upset when it is school holidays!

    ::: What a lovely personal comment Rachael … Thank you! :) :)
