  1. Love the idea of “incursions” – never heard this term before for visitors. Thanks :)

    ::: Hee … hee Juliet! It’s probably another one of those strange Aussie terms!?!?

    What a comprehensive list! I don’t even live in Melbourne but was keen to check out so many of these links. My children would love the bubble shows.

    ::: We’re very impressed with the list Elise and used quite a few of them ourselves, both the incursions and the excursions. :) :)

  3. avatar Tracy says:

    They look great, but too far for me :( But I had to tell you I love the new picture heading! It’s beautiful and illustrates your views on children’s play!

    ::: Thank you Tracy! :) :)

    In Perth we have Scitech who will come out and do hands on science shows for kindergartens, child care and playgroups. We also have Animal Ark who bring reptiles for the children to look at, touch and learn about. It is very hands on and they were very patient with my enthusiastic 3 year olds. I’m sure we have more.

    ::: They sound wonderful Lisa. We will pop them up on our Facebook page so people from W.A. will be aware of them. Thanks for sharing! :) :) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Irresistible-Ideas-For-Play-Based-Learning/121305887884646

    Thanks for some great ideas, can’t wait to make a few bookings.

    ::: You’re very welcome Irenabrim. :) :)

  7. avatar sam says:

    Love looking through this list, i couldn’t wait to check out each and every site. I’m from Sydney, so it’s obviously to far to come on excursion or to have people come to us, But i’m soo jealous, i now want to live and teach in Melboure, we don’ have even half of these things up here in sydney.

    ::: You know Sam I think next week we should put out the call for favourite incursion/excursion ideas in N.S.W. and see what we can com up with! :) :)

  8. avatar Amanda says:

    That Wiggly Worm lady…..well, she is a charecter =/

    ::: Di is a character alright Amanda. She visited our children many times over the years and never failed to have and Sherry in stitches! :) :)
