On our visits to schools and kindergartens this year we have noticed that some of them had Chinese lanterns decorating various parts of their rooms following celebrations of Chinese New Year.
At Holy Trinity, we saw them beautifully arranged, hanging from a net, but the difference here was that the children had decorated them themselves.
They started off with plain white paper lanterns, available from discount stores, then using brightly coloured food/Edicol dye painted them however they liked.
The resulting display was so vibrant …
with each lantern looking individual and unique!
They complimented the lanterns and flags decorating the International Cafe in the corner beautifully …
and enhanced the other multicultural influences …
we found around the room.
Irresistible indeed!

So cute!! The best thing is, you can reuse them again by painting over them when you wanna change the design.
