::: st. john’s anglican kindergarten
St John’s Anglican Kindergarten is in the heart of Croydon,
behind St. John the Divine Anglican Church and across from the Croydon Centro Shopping Center.
Its outdoor area is looking beautiful and lush in this Indian Summer we are experiencing here in Melbourne.
The fabulous lawn area is perfect for assorted sporting activities.
The day we visited the children were having a wonderful time with this gross motor obstacle course.
In fact the entire yard lends itself toward lots of physical play.
St. John’s has a large deck under the trees, just perfect for some quiet play like music or cubbies …
or cars!
Their gorgeous dry creek bed …
surrounded by tufted native grasses, rocks and logs …
meanders down to their magnificent climbing tree …
the favoured piece of outdoor equipment!
We saw mini gardens in half wine barrels and tyres brightening up corners and marking boundaries.
The children who were inside were busy under an umbrella fishing …
before setting up a shop …
to sell their catch.
They were having fun playing with dinosaur skeletons …
and mini beasts.
Puzzles …
painting …
reading in the relaxing library corner which is framed by a rainbow net …
and collage pasting.
The ever popular invention table …
was producing creativity all morning long!
The construction, manipulative and creative equipment is set out on shelves and easily accessible to the children.
St. John’s Anglican Kindergarten is a sessional kinder where staff provide a calm, nurturing environment for the children in their care.
They cater for 2 prekinder and 2 kindergarten groups.
St. John’s Anglican Kindergarten is located at 9 Toorak Avenue, Croydon – Victoria
