::: play spaces for one

Although we often have play spaces set up for multiple children, they do love having their own little nooks too.

We have found that an easy way of doing this is to separate a bigger table into smaller private areas using these dividers which we made using recycled materials.

A little stand at either end which the large cardboard pieces slot into ensures they are strong and stable.

We simply glued and nailed small blocks of timber onto very solid cardboard …

just far enough apart for the cardboard dividers, which we have covered in clear contact, to slide into.

They are just perfect for doing your own thing in your own space …

while not being too far from your friends!

    Ah, so that’s how they are made….:)

    Okay, now you’ve given me work for the weekend. I’ve often gerry-rigged things like this from blocks, but I’ve never thought to make semi-permanent dividers. I might even stay after school today — on a Friday — to make them!

    ::: Giving up your Friday arvo Tom … now that’s keen! :) :)
